The Lesson of Ali Babba

I was recently relating to a friend the story of Ali Babba. You may recall how he tried and tried to get into a secret treasure room without success. He couldn't figure out the code until he overhead the magic words, "Open, sesame." And when he tried them, magically the door opened and he got the treasure.

People's hearts are like that treasure room, guarded by the mind at the gate. It takes a special password to get in. All we can do is listen until they tell us what it is. Until then, we can only love them just the way they are, where they are, all locked inside with the rest of their treasure.
