What are you all about?

For What It's Worth

Traveling the spiritual path is all about seeing the experiences of life in a new way. And using them to learn things about ourselves. This art of self-examination is the primary tool of the inner path.

Some of those things are on the surface. Like our personality responses and patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior. But the journey doesn't stop with just looking at them. It means considering what causes them and how and why they serve us. And that means digging ever-deeper, looking for the hidden inner factors that shape our outer lives. And then digging deeper still.

The answers don't come easy. It's sort of like wading through a rice paddy, one tortuous step at a time. And while we're there, we're sitting ducks for whatever storms life throws our way.

At first we don't know much about why we are the way we are. But later on, as we go deeper, we begin to see how the lives we have are created. And what creates the situatiosn we find ourselves in, notwithstanding how much we dislike them or want something else.

For myself, I'm still peeling back the layers. Looking at what I find and the things that are making me the way I am. Hoping to glimpse more and more about my inner self, and the various layers that lay beneath (above?) it.

But those are explorations for another day, another time, after completing another level of preparation. At one level, I know I'm already capable of knowing that. But at another, I want to slog my way along, paddy by paddy, to really understand what makes life in this dimension tick.
